Hello, supporters of Freeway and partners with WOEE! I hope this newsletter finds you all well enjoying Spring weather. Due to the LockDown, Andriy has been unable to visit orphanages as he normally does but he has been in touch with the orphanage directors and local churches and families near the orphanages. A couple weeks ago Andriy identified 10 families who were not able to work due to the economic shutdown who would soon be out of food and unable to buy any more. He stated on his Freeway page that he was planning to buy $100 FoodBox gifts for those families and another non-profit Lost Sparrows, Inc. joined Andriy to fulfill that need. He has encountered at least another 10 families that are also in need only because of the shutdowns and a loving family has donated to help those 10 families. There have been a couple more families that want to help and have donated and more are welcome….all money donated will be used to purchase food. Until restrictions in Ukraine are lifted, there will be many more instances like this, especially in the remote villages where many families’ main wage earners commute or where they farm but their livelihoods are put on-hold.
Andriy has a vision to provide some of these most needy families a small chicken farm so they will have food such as eggs to eat and to sell or trade for other supplies and staples. In the coming weeks Andriy will have some fundraising ideas of how families can donate small amounts to help make these mini-farm ideas a reality!
Please reach out to Andriy if you have any questions or are interested in supporting this cause!
